Have been coming here for years since I was a child so over 20 years. They have always been my family’s favorite place. Until they served us old char su (red bbq pork). It was extremely disappointing to have bitten into it to realize immediately that it was OLD! It was as hard as a brick and definitely has either been sitting out or reheated at least once. The eggplant with pork was disappointing as well. The brown sauce it usually would be made with was almost pure oil. I’m talking about a good amount more oil vs the food itself. We may not be ordering here again. All the food we ordered was definitely not what we are used to. Maybe there’s new cooks in the back but we probably won’t be coming back again.

They have excellent salt and pepper chicken wings so I figured I'd try their salt and pepper shrimp. No comparison whatever. The shrimp was not crispy on the outside and barely seasoned in the actual shrimp itself. It's as if the seasoning was thrown on top after cooking and it all fell off into the bed of lettuce it was sitting on. If the batter the shrimp was fried in seasoned enough it wouldn't be a big issue but that was not the case. The shrimp was bland and not crispy on the outside. If I wanted any flavor in my bites I had to grab the "seasoned" lettuce and eat it with the shrimp. This order with tax was $27+. If it tasted amazing that price would be with it but for a mediocre experience and at $1.35 per average sized shrimp, it was not. Very disappointed...

The fried chicken wings at Golden Chopsticks deserve their own spotlight. They come out perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned in a way that makes you understand why everyone keeps ordering them. They taste fresh, they hit every craving, and they are easily one of the standout items on the menu. If you go, do yourself a favor and get the wings.

We had to go try their salt and pepper chicken wings since everybody’s hyping them up. And they honestly were really good. very quick service food came out hot.

I ordered the fried wings with garlic. They were so scrumptious. I also tried the fried rice with shrimp 🍤 wow so delicious with added soy sauce. The portions are enough for four people. The price for the meal is fair, large potions and made fresh. You can't go wrong here the service was excellent as always. Highly recommend this family restaurant, it's so worth the drive from North County.
